Is Iceland so cold or Spain so hot?: Maybe not.

We'd like to share information about the two countries, which apparently are so different. By sharing informationa about each country( their geography, their history, their people, their customs, routines), we would like to prove that we all share common values. Globalization is said to be a bad thing for many reasons, but it sure has other positive aspects. It brings people closer.

Themes:     Citizenship, Environmental Education, European Studies, Foreign Languages, Geography, History, History of Culture, Informatics / ICT, Special Needs Education

Tools:     Audio conference, Chat, e-mail, Forum, MP3, Other software (Powerpoint, video, pictures and drawings), Virtual learning environment (communities, virtual classes, ...), Web publishing

Age range:     From 12 to 13

Aims:     1. Get to know other countries and their people. 2. Use ICT in the classrooms. 3. Foster English as a Global language. 4. Motivate students to work in a different environment. 5. Widen students' minds and make them consider other realities, other cultures, other worlds.

Expected Results:     We hope the students will realise how big the world is, how important ICT and English is for their future and motivate them for the long term to continue learning English as a way to promote in life.

Work Process:     Students will work in groups. Teacher will assaign them groups mixing mixed ability students. Teacher will decide the topics and set the routines. Student will work from the high school and from home via moodle. A communicative approach would be emphasized together with ICT skills.
